F1 2010 Review
F1 2010 is the second official Formula One game to be launched by Codemasters since tehy got the rights to make the official game. F1 2009 for the PSP and the Nintendo Wii gave some dissapointing results, even though the gameplay was great the garphics and game modes were poor. This new F1 game for PS3, XBOX 360 and PC has unarguably the best graphics seen in a Formula One game ever thanks to EGO engine. The game modes are much improved with a sevon season career mode as well as time trial, world championship and the other usual companions.
Batman: Arkham City Review
Batman was created in 1939, and this is arguably his best outing yet, video game or otherwise. Rocksteady Studios set a new benchmark for superhero games back in 2009 with Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Arkham City improves on its predecessor in every way, as a sequel should. There are a lot of different topics to cover in this review so why don’t we get started.
FIFA 12 Review
FIFA 12 is the latest football game to be released by Electronic Arts in late
September this year. This was the one that was supposed to revolutionize the
way we play football on our consoles. Well, I think it certainly did a good job
of it. As well as many other sports games in the recent year they’ve targeted
better graphics, more challenging AI and a sense of putting the player in the
game. With nearly 30 different leagues, over 500 clubs to choose from you get
yourself right into the game and the brand new Player Impact Engine just puts
the cherry on the cake for FIFA 12.
NHL 12 Review
Today TheGameGuide takes a look at NHL 12. NHL 12 is the latest installment of the EASports franchise. This installment seems to promising in many aspects from the new revamped physics engine, the introduction the “legends” of the game, which includes the great one himself Wayne Gretzky. There is also a female character now, even though your mother told you to never hit a girl, oh well its hockey.
From first glance at the game you are simply in awe. The presentation looks much more realistic than years past. As you start up, you jump into the newest mode The Winter Classic. Where you take to the ice at Hines Fields playing as the Pittsburgh Penguins V.S. the Washington Capitals, and have to cope with the harsh conditions outside which does affect your skating and puck handling. The Winter Classic is a nice addition to the game and an addition that many gamers
have been asking for since the intro of the classic in 2008.
The online play is still the same with your conventional shootouts and versus matches. The money maker for the series in the past few years in the EASHL, in which you have your own player, and play on your own “club” team to compete for the amateur, pro, or elite championships. This game mode is very fun, but can be highly frustrating with the inconsistencies during play. It has been improved since NHL 11, but still lacks “anticipation” AI.
Revamping the physics engine was one of EA Sports main concerns, and boy did they ever. There are no unhittable players anymore. You now have the ability to deliver the game changed hit that you see on the television. You can knock off their
helmet, hit them into the bench, and even hit them through the glass. One great improvement in the game is the involvement of goalies. Finally the goalie is not an inanimate object on the ice. Goalies can also now fight with other
goalies or even players that are messing with them.
At the end of the day EA Sports has delivered another stellar game. There are many aspects of the game that will keep you coming back for more. TheGameGuide gives NHL 12 an 8.5/10. Remember when you see a girl skating around on the ice, just
tell yourself oh well its hockey.
